Realm of Inspiration: A Cozy and High-End Office Space

Creating a Design-Thinking-Friendly Environment

Decorating the working environment with an American Industrial interior style, designer Jia Ru Chen applies diverse materials all over the place for a design-thinking-friendly environment. Keeping the original pipelines and the initial texture of the wall, the precise yet vigorous design presents the quality texture of the natural and organic space.

Through the use of wooden material, aluminum-framed glass panels, metallic items, artistic coating, and system cabinets, the Realm of Inspiration office space stands out with its unique and high-end design. The combination of these elements creates a cozy environment that is both visually appealing and functional.

The layout of the working space is divided into an office area, team discussion area, and an office pantry. The slightly elevated flooring extends to the aluminum-framed glass slide doors at the end, differentiating the office area from the aisle. The metallic shelving serves the dual purpose of display and creating a boundary between living and working spaces.

Considering the traffic flow and the long-narrowed office space, the designer applies more lines to extend the spatial perception. The team discussion area is strategically arranged in front of the window, allowing for ample natural light. This creates a relaxed and well-illuminated space for clients to discuss their needs and ideas.

With a color palette that divides the function use of the office area, the design achieves a harmonious balance. Sufficient lighting illuminates the industrial styling space, while textures and lines outline and soften the overall achromatic colors. The sitting area's color echoes with the black ceiling and dark flooring, creating a striking contrast with the white aisle. Even the restroom has been renovated, with the original tiles removed and a clear lacquer coating applied.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was the need to choose eco-friendly materials. The company also aimed to reuse the furniture they had while moving to the new office. By redecorating and renovating these pieces, they were able to create a more sustainable value. The design avoids excessive decoration, focusing on reducing unnecessary waste.

The Realm of Inspiration project, completed in February 2022 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, showcases the creativity and resourcefulness of designer Jia Ru Chen. The unique combination of materials, attention to detail, and thoughtful layout make this office space a cozy and high-end environment that inspires creativity and productivity.
